Madness Monday

Sometimes I'm like Yipeeeee it's spring let's take a selfie cause life's great
(my big sis is a babe)

And then other times I'm like life ISN'T great because there's still 7 Mondays left of school, and that is 8 too many. Today I'm seriously contemplating how I am going to make it through until May 22nd. I see teary eyes driving to school in my near future.
In other news though, I picked up my tassle today, and oh boy I cannot wait until it's on my cap instead of in my hand.
Class of 2014 holla attcha guuuuurl!!

However in the meantime I'm going to keep avoiding my homework, not think about school tomorrow, and bowl it out.

Back to the same ol thing

School's back which means my view is now typically looking like this ------>

So not excited to be back staring at my homework, and yes I say staring at it because I've decided I stare at my math more than I do it. Why is it so hard all of a sudden? My guesses are on senioritis.

On the other hand though I am definitely excited to be back in school because the sooner school gets going the sooner I AM DONE!! May 22nd can not come fast enough. It's weird being in your last quarter of high school because you realize just how poor you are and that living in the real world requires lots of $$$!! I need to be in the top 15% of my graduating class to get MCC for free and right now I'm in the top 17% so hopefully I knock out some of the competition because free schooling would just be so perfect.

Three cheers for making through the first 3 days back after break!!

Shootin up Stratum

Quail Street Gang's our name, laser tag's our game. Aka Maddie, Lindsey, and I kicked shot some major booty last night at Stratum.

These girls are my ultimate fave. I'm crazy and they're normal so we balance each other out good. Lindsey is a year older then me and Maddie is a year younger than me, the makings for a perfect trio. So basically it's always a good time when we're doing gang business, uh hanging out I mean.

Laser tag however, made me realize just how fiesty I can get. I guess putting a group of teens in a dark room with laser guns does that to you? I don't know, but I do know laser tag definitely doesn't bring out the best in the way strangers treat each other ;)

props to our photo bomber

Peace out Online Class

In my last post on here I said I was almost done with my online class..well guess what?! I am currently drinking this ------>
(Chocolate milk and whip cream. Current addiction)

Which means I am DONE!!! I am FINALLY DONEEE!!!!!! I am going to graduate from high school after all! ;) Without my Mom constantly reminding me to do it I most likely would have never finished it. This class wasn't so bad though, I mean my text book was pretty awesome.
Yeah, this was my text book. Cool, right?
However, I've never been a fan of school work especially online school work so it's a miracle I am done! This book was actually really good because it had quotes like "You can choose which water slide you want to go down, but once you've started sliding you can't very well stop" or "Your tears are a testament of just how deeply you love" and even "Unexpressed feeling never die, they are buried alive and come fourth later in uglier ways". I'm a sucker for good quotes.
However, now that I am done with this class I see a lot of this in my future...

For the next 2 days of spring break you'll find me in the position above. Adios online class, you won't be missed!

peachy keen

Spring break was totally made for taking selfies, right?

Wait, i totally meant to say hiking ;)
Hiking is the greatest. I went with 9 kids, and 3 adults so it was nothing strenuous, just fun times and prime weather that made for a peachy keen type of day. Spring break has been magical. (well minus the hours and hours I've been spending on my stupid online class...almost done!!) Sleeping in, too much In-n-out, date nights in the middle of the week, lots of shopping, and being able to sit around and do absolutely nothing! Wish it lasted forever and not just a week!

Monday Funday?

Today's a Monday. A good Monday in fact. Today I decided some things.

1. If you eat fruit for breakfast it's perfectly acceptable to eat this for lunch.

2. Downloading games on my phone is dumb. I'm already addicted to my phone without them so why make the situation worse. Too late, addiction is real my friends.

3. Grease is still my all time favorite movie. And Sandy & Danny are the world's most perfect couple. (One day my husband and I better be at least half as cute as them)

seriously? too cute.

4. Moon roofs? Always a good idea on prime weather days like today.

Fly with meeee!

Yet another reason why I love Spring -------> PROM SEASON

Cardon is one sweet guy and asked me to prom. Shocker, I know ;) He left a poster saying "Fly Away with me to Prom?" on my doorstep with a balloon string tied to a bag of star-bursts at the front of the walkway up to my house. Literally I think the balloon with his name on it went into my backyard the string was so long and high. It took forever to pull it down.
That string looks A LOT longer in person.
I'm one lucky girl and get to go to TWO proms since Cardon goes to Mountain View, which so happens to be my rival school. (Mountain View's prom theme is "fly away with me" because it's at Falcon Field.) I am soooo excited, and I already got a girl to loan me a dress so I am set! Now I just have the long wait until May! Prom 2014 here I come!!

Oh hey look, it's Spring!

As I was putting shorts on this morning I realized something, it's SPRING!!! My most favorite time of the year.

                                                     That means breath taking sunsets....

And afternoons spent laying in the grass with little brothers...
One more school week until spring break. Oh man oh man I hope I make it. I keep repeating "Stay Positive. I can do this." then I repeat it 3 times more in my head when walking the walls of Red Mountain High School. (I've had senior-itis since August) This week is going to be busy, busy, busy! But hey it will make it go by speedy quick!

                     Reason #54768973 I can't wait to graduate:
I won't have to constantly look at polka dotted sidewalks "creatively made" by crazed teens who don't know how to spit their gum into trash cans.

Phoenix Marathon Recap

On March 1st my wildest dreams came true...this happened.

I became a real, legit, 26.2 miler running marathoner!!!!!

Something I have dreamed of for years, but finally decided to make stuff happen and started training 16 weeks ago! You could definitely tell I was a newbie. I went in having been warned from Missy that the whole thing wouldn't be unicorns and rainbows, and oh boy she was right. It was the hardest thing I've ever done (a lot harder than I actually imagined) but it was so worth it!!
The morning of, Missy came and picked me up and we grabbed a friend, Ryan, and headed towards the start line. The race course started up on Usery Pass Road by the shooting range. So since that morning you couldn't get to the start line, Missy dropped Ryan and I off towards it and we basically trekked there in the desert. In the dark I might add. (Adventuring at it's finest) Ryan wasn't running the marathon but he nicely paced me for the first 8 miles! I was so grateful to have him there, to get me to the start line, and get me going cause I was one nervous girl! Two minutes before the gun went off to start it started POURING RAIN! Mesa had perfect weather all week and then BAM marathon day RAINY. It didn't really rain much the rest of the race and the rain was all good because it stopped by mile 3! The first 8 miles flew by especially, but actually the entire first half did! I saw my student council at mile 9 because they were doing the aid station which was shortly after Ryan left me so that was a good boost to see a cheer squad of about 20 yelling my name! At the 13.1 mark of the marathon I was ahead of my time goal and feeling happy. However my feet ached and my left knee was being annoying so I was trying to ignore it. But then I hit mile 14 and the main pacer that was my ultimate time goal ran past me and I couldn't catch up. Big mistake, I psyched myself out and started stressing! I knew Missy was coming soon to pace me so I just kept thinking I needed to hold on. I was hitting the marathon wall.
Mile 16, thank goodness Missy and Stephanie hopped on in to run with me!!
Oh man I could not have ran this marathon without Missy!! I can admit there were definitely tears streaming down my face, sassy attitudes, and a lack of drive coming from me the last 10 miles. I definitely just wanted to stop and quit. But Missy didn't leave me and she deserves a medal for putting up with me!

I now understand what it means to have to push through a marathon wall! I wanted to throw in the towel, but I didn't and I AM SO GLAD! I loved finishing!! I loved becoming a marathoner!!My official time being 4:24!!
And I especially could not have done this without my supporters, especially my parents! I saw a member(s) of my family about every 2-3 miles it seemed like!! I 100% needed that motivation and seeing my family's smiling faces on the race course will be something I will remember forever. They were always there yelling and screaming! I am so grateful for my family. (And I'm grateful my Mom gave everyone cheer spot assignments!)This marathon was basically a family accomplishment because throughout training my family would always take turns riding the bike while I run or come up and check on me when I was running by myself. And my Mom's whole life revolved around the marathon too during training, that's one dedicated Mom. I'm sure my Mom learned to dread long run Saturdays.
But did I mention?! I AM A MARATHONER!!!!!!

My siblings: Sarah, Doug, David, and Grant

I love everyone that came and cheered me on!!!!

YAYAYAY I'M A MARATHONER!!
And I also got to meet Runemz, and instagram friend! (The sweetest lady!)
